One easy branding opportunity that I don't see used enough is from from your coupon codes.
Some stores will use the generic ones: SAVE_10
, SUMMER_SALE
, 20_OFF
These are nice because they are clear, though any with a number will be pushed. Is SAVE_15
, SAVE_20
, or SAVE_25
valid for even better discounts?
Others will use random characters to make them look pseudo-unique or actually unique: nscxkabfzn
, ikiivsqosg
, or ac4e7888-df40-4382-821c-f4fc4c29bf6e
. Those are required if you need something unique and can only be used one-time but they are actually a bit of a pain.
For a branding impact, use actual words that relate to or reinforce your brand. You can make them fun, serious, or poke at something. Say you sell houseplants:
FEED_ME_SEE_MORE
, UNKILLABLE
, EAT_THE_SUN
, ONLY_PLANT_STAN_HAS_NOT_KILLED_YET
play on cliches and puns.
All told, you probably only need 10-15 of these coupons per year. If you know the themes of your sales it can be very easy to brainstorm a few (those examples sound like good ones for a sale on plant food and hardy plants).
Use every chance you get to make your store stand out among the competition.
