Every year the Black Friday, Cyber Monday, winter holiday juggernaut starts up and that's all you hear about in ecommerce. It's a stressful time for many Shopify stores with huge levels of FOMO.
But does it really matter to you? Do you have to participate?
What if you just did the minimum? Add some gift cards to your store, allow gift wrapping, and then just operate like normal. Everything might work out fine with a lot less stress and hassle.
Really, to know that you need to know if your holiday customers you acquire are worth the extra work.
That requires data to support you. Either by analyzing how last November/December's customers performed or using Repeat Customer Insights and the Winter Holiday analysis.
I suspect many stores will say yes, they need holiday customers. Now you know and you might even learn how important they are.
I'll bet there's going to be a few store owners reading this that will find their store doesn't need those customers and it's not worth making a huge deal out of the holidays.
