When merchandising there are a bunch of strategies you can use to decide what to promote:
- Best sellers - will tend to move fast and contribute to your bottom line right away.
- Items that create the best customers - will have the best long-term success.
- Inventory you want to clear out - will get that inventory sold off and out of your warehouse but maybe at a loss.
- Items with the highest traffic - popular items that attract attention, but might not translate to sales.
- Items which are bundled or lead to bundles - will tend to increase order sizes.
All of these strategies are valuable at different times, you'd just need to figure out which ones to use at specific times.
Once you know which to use, it can become easy to slot in the products for each.
