Last week I finally battled the paperwork.
I've gone digital as much as possible but there are always holdouts that accumulate.
Especially when you just keep stacking it for four years.
So last week I scanned, shredded, filed, and archived my way through the various piles.
To-be scanned.
To-be filed.
To-be shredded.
Surprisingly the three piles took much less time than I expected. What I thought would be taking me a dozen hours ended up getting done in about four.
I must have been telling myself a mental story about how hard and how much time it'd take as an excuse to avoid doing the work.
This happens frequently which is why I wanted to rip through the paper and get back to a baseline.
With that done I'll start building a habit of doing it every month in tiny bits which will be easier and less stressful.
Now I just need to trick myself into taking that same approach to my business and start working on my SEO again. My "monthly" SEO tasks have transformed into annual tasks.
One SEO feature that works without a lot of upkeep is structured data.
Mostly because the data helps Google's algorithm which makes their job easier.
You can either audit, code, and test your store's structured data by hand or install JSON-LD for SEO and have the structured data you need for several types of Rich Results.
It's already helped a few thousand Shopify stores with their structured data and it could help you too.
