While in the middle of a crisis it's important to take care of yourself, the people around you, and your loved ones.
That's so clear and self-evident that I'm not going into more depth on it.
Once that's taken care of it becomes important to making sure your short-term (1-6 months) and mid-term (6-24 months) is taken care of.
Getting out of one crisis (e.g. covid-19), only to fall into a different one (e.g. general recession) is painful and could shutdown your store.
There are a ton of strategies and tactics you can use to deal with a crisis. You'll start to see more of them as people switch their attention to the longer-term business picture.
If you already know what you are going to do, that's great.
But even if you don't have a plan for the remainder of 2020 yet, start thinking about it now.
Having an idea of a plan is good.
Having a plan with a few backup strategies is better.
Starting to put in work on your plan, even if only a little, is the best action right now.
Your plan could be as simple as a monthly checklist of SEO activities along with a few one-off projects like an SEO audit or installing JSON-LD for SEO for Rich Results.
Or your plan could be a 40 page document with Gantt charts, resource allocations, and what-if forecasts.
Whatever you decide, don't set your plan in unbreakable concrete. You'll need it to be flexible to handle all the changes coming that no one suspected (unknown unknowns).
And if your situation is dire and you have immediate needs, focus on those first before thinking ahead.
But if you're safe and find yourself with extra time, putting that to future use could make you and your store stronger once the crisis passes.
