Between the high winds, power outages, and wildfire smoke, I've been stuck inside the house for the past week.
Finally last Friday the rain moved in and started to clear out the smoke.
Throughout the day in-between the rain cells I was able to finally clean up and disassemble what the wind broke in the garden and take care of most of the front yard.
It's not done, I'll need another half day or so, but getting things back to normal was an important victory.
It started to feel like things were piling up and several windows of opportunity were closing on me (e.g. starting winter garden, clearing plants that were about to drop seed).
A big part of the success was the checklist I made of everything I needed to do, in order. That list made it easy to stay on task and not lose time doing something that caught my eye.
Once the smoke and wildfires are completely done, then I can have a more leisurely pace.
Ecommerce is also getting into the Black Friday / Cyber Monday season soon which means a lot of rushing to get ready along with just waiting.
If you have the chance, make sure to create your own checklist of what needs to be done. It'll prove invaluable when you get busy and the pace picks up.
It can be as simple or complex as you need, just err on the side of simple if possible.
Bonus points if you can make it regale next year.
