For the past month writing has been difficult for me.
Yes, even I the writer of the daily email has struggled many days to write.
It's not writers block or not having any ideas for topics.
It's simpler than that.
I became complacent enough in my writing process that I would leave it for later in the day while I worked on other things.
Once it became writing-time, my energy was running low and my streamlined writing process would grind to a halt.
Just like a smart phone left off the charger overnight.
What I've started to do was to change my routine so writing becomes the first and most important task for me every day. I still struggle with it but the routine is beginning to take hold again.
When I talk to store owners I hear that marketing is the hardest thing they do. Marketing requires quite a bit of creativity, time, and all the while is tied to the need to see results (usually quickly).
My advice to you is to try to prioritize your marketing, or whatever your hardest thing is, so that it's the first thing you do every day.
It will be hard.
It will suck at first.
But it should become easier.
Even if it doesn't, completing it first every day should make the rest of the day easier to deal with.
What do you say? Could you start each day this week with 30 minutes of marketing? How about 15? Or even 5?
Once great optimization you can do today to help with your marketing is to make sure your product's structured data is setup correctly for Google's Rich Snippets. With those you'll get more traffic and better converting traffic.
You can either audit your store's structured data by hand or install JSON-LD for SEO and have all the structured data you need.
It's already helping over two thousand Shopify stores with their structured data and it could help you too.
